Torpedo Factory Residency

I'm both excited and honored to be a part of the inaugural group of artists selected for the Torpedo Factory's Post-MFA residency program. Two of my colleagues from George Mason University will also take part in the program after me, namely Steve Skowron and Stephanie Booth. This residency is a really great opportunity for young artists the D/M/V, as it adds a much needed resource both in the arts community and for emerging artists to gain traction for their work while having interaction with the general public. Part of what makes the Torpedo Factory unique is that it's open to visitors every day from 10am - 6pm and there are over 80 individual and shared artist studios. It's one of the few institutions in the U.S. that has this kind of set up.

I will be in Studio 12, on the ground floor of the Torpedo Factory until May 9th, when American U. post-grad Jenny Wu takes over. I'm often here on the weekends and at intermittent points during the week when I'm not teaching - so if you're in Old Town Alexandria, VA, c'mon by and say hi!

UPDATE April 17:

I'm mentioned in another article about my residency from Northern Virginia Magazine: http://www.northernvirginiamag.com/buzz-bin/2015/04/06/torpedo-factory-launches-its-post-graduate-residency-program/

I will also be giving an artist's talk about the work I was doing while at The Torpedo Factory on June 4th, at 5:30pm. All are welcome!
