Fire in the Sky (2017)
This is a digital pigment print of a digital scan of a 35mm negative, originally taken somewhere in the northern plains during the late spring of 2017. This image was printed for the occasion of my solo show, In/Between | A Rock and a Hard Place: Visions from the Ghost World of how to Survive One’s Sovereignty of Self Destruction in a Land We Assumed We Once Knew, at the Rice Media Center at Rice University in the fall of 2019.
The image was shot on Rollei Infrared 400, hand developed (while I was an artist in residence at the Woodstock Brydcliffe Guild) then scanned using a Hasselblad Imacon Flextight scanner. The image was digitally printed in the fall of 2019 on an Epson P9000 large format printer. Please note: this image does have two slight rust stains on the top left and top right of the paper, outside the image itself, from where it was hung during the show with metal binder clips. Image is printed on Moab Somerset Museum Rag, 8.5 x 11 inches, unframed.
